Lincoln Windows & Patio Doors

Mahogany and Fir Exteriors

Mahogany has a generally straight grain, typically free of voids and pockets. This ultra-rich looking wood is heavy and dense making it a suitable material for crafting fine furniture and constructing wood windows. It’s known for a reddish-brown color, which darkens over time and its resistance to wood rot.

Douglas-fir is commonly used for structural applications that are required to withstand high loads and therefore makes this strong material a great choice for window manufacturers. Besides is strength, fir is widely accepted for its traditional cosmetic appeal. The grain is generally tight and vertical in nature.

Both wood options can be ordered as an exterior/ interior option as part of our Luxury Collection.  These beautiful, sturdy and durable wood species compliment our all pine interior/exterior offering.

See our other collections for combining clad exteriors with six different wood species.
